About us

Our mission is to eliminate throwaway packaging from grocery shopping.

We believe we can create a new normal for grocery shopping, where throwaway packaging is a thing of the past.

People will look back in a few years and wonder why we ever did it differently, it'll be so obvious that this is the way to do it if we want a sustainable future.

What problem are we solving?

40% of all plastic packaging waste is from grocery shopping. Only 17% of this is recycled and most ends up in landfill, incinerators, or our oceans (source: Greenpeace Big Plastic Count).

As a consumer, there are no easy ways to stop using throwaway packaging. Not if you want to consume food and drink in a way you are accustomed to.

For decades we've been told plastic waste is an end consumer problem, that if we dutifully recycle then they can keep making products covered in plastic.

And that convenience in our weekly shop means we can’t be sustainable.

We say enough. Time to chose a better way.

What's our solution?

The best way to end this is to stop using throwaway packaging all together.

weekly.shop is a circular supermarket that uses no throwaway packaging at all, preventing it from ever entering the waste stream in the first place.

Simpler and easier than a regular grocery shop, we aim to offer a complete grocery service fully zero waste, all in one place.

What people need is a real, viable alternative to current options. Even the best intentions will not get you far along the road to freedom from packaging waste with the choice currently available.

This is why we have built a whole new grocery system, the solution needs to be big, bold, and comprehensive.
